In order to promote cultural exchanges between China and Singapore and build an international art exchange stage for artists from both countries, the Singapore Artists Association strongly promotes artists and their works with unique artistic style, innovative spirit and academic value. NowMr. Zhang Li, the founder of his own Xieyi Chinese Coloured Ink Painting style, is invited to come to Singapore for artistic exchange activities and hold a solo exhibition. The exhibition, titled “Contemporary Artist Zhang Li’s Ink Painting Exhibition,” is hosted by the Singapore Artists Association and Visual Arts Centre Singapore.
This groundbreaking exhibition will be held from 27 July to 1 August 2018 in Visual Arts Centre at Dhoby Ghaut Green, Singapore.
Zhang’s paintings are extremely unique to his personal style. His original art style takes inspiration from Western modern art, Chinese traditional paintings, Chinese folk art, advertising and graphic design art. He combines abstraction with figuration, tradition, and modernism to form a unique Xieyi style. Zhang’s works were published by China’s authoritative magazine “Mei Shu”, promoting his works and lauding his painting style for its innovation. The exhibition will display more than 30 works by Mr. Zhang Li, divided into three series: “Chinese Opera Series”, “Chinese Zodiac Series” and “Spring Series”. These three series of paintings showcase the unique artistic style and personality of Mr. Zhang Li, as well as the vigour and charm of modern Chinese ink painting.
