In our daily experience, we unconsciously conflate the ‘seen’ and the ‘known’ in conversation online or offline. We interact with the world mainly through how we see, equating ‘seeing’ with ‘knowledge’. Without a penetrating discernment or insight, might one be easily caught in the “vision machine” (Paul Virilio, 1994)? In this second edition of the miniature sculpture exhibition organized by Sculpture Society (Singapore), artists explore today’s visual world and culture, and reflect on the connection between ‘seeing’ and ‘knowing’.
