RE:TURN is an exhibition by 19 artists who graduated in 1995 from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. More than 38 pieces of artworks will be on display. Artworks range from paintings, photographs, sculpture and installation.
Twenty six years after graduation, the class of 95 has decided to have a class reunion not in the form of a typical dinner but to have a group exhibition of artworks. Conceived about four years ago and postponed twice due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to be able to finally present our artworks to the public.
Over the years, some of us has gone on to successful careers in the arts in Singapore and overseas. While some has ploughed in art-related or non art related jobs. However, the imagination to create has seen us through the daily grind. Many of us continue to create art whether in actuality or in our minds. RE:TURN urges all of us to clock in the time to put ideas into reality.
As we roam through the stations of life, like a light bulb that watches us when we let it, art lets us see and experience. Join us in our art journey. To see what we see and experience what we experience.
The exhibition will run from 25th November to 1st of December 2021 at the Visual arts Centre. It opens on Thursday 25th November from 1 to 9pm. Daily hours are: Friday to Monday from 11am to 8pm, Tuesday from 11 am to 6pm. Artists tours are available over the weekends. Admission is free.
Participating artists: Charlotte Ang, Serene Chee, Chong Ching Wei, Er Poh Luan, Jayne Goh, Hong Sek Chern, Michelle Lee, Kelvin Lee, Lim Kian Chai, Lee Sing Pan, Carey Ngai, Airik Ng, Job s/o Samyrajoo, Sun I-Yu, Tay Bak Chiang, Alice Teng, Teo Sek Eng, Wee Che Min, Ming Wong

Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
