“Unique Multiples” is a solo exhibition by local artist and printmaker Joseph Chiang, featuring a series of silkscreen monoprints, with only one screen used for each collection.
Supported by the National Arts Council, this exhibition explores and creates prints that look at the relevance of art-creation versus the modern era of hi-technology and mass-consumption.
Joseph Chiang is a Singapore-based artist and printmaker. He is the founder of Monster Gallery, a creative print studio that produces original fine art prints and conducts printmaking workshops, as well as, the Young Printmakers League, a mentorship programme which aims to nurture the next generation of creative printmakers in Singapore. He has also held many solo and group exhibitions in Singapore and abroad.
Silkscreen Workshop & Guided Tour
With this exhibition, Joseph is presenting a one-hour print-making workshop. Participants will be given a guided tour of the exhibition followed by a basic workshop on silkscreen printing. Get to print your own tote bags with a ready-made silkscreen stencil designed by Joseph! Each participant will also take home an exclusive signed postcard.

In the Batik Introduction Handkerchief Painting workshop, participants will learn the traditional art of batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique originating from Indonesia. The workshop begins with a brief history and overview of batik, highlighting its cultural significance and various techniques. Participants will then observe a demonstration of applying wax with tjanting tools and dyeing the fabric. Following the demonstration, each participant will design and create their own batik handkerchief, applying wax to create patterns and then dyeing their fabric. The workshop concludes with a group discussion, allowing participants to share their creations and reflect on their learning experience.
