Visual Arts Centre and Big Love Child Protection Specialist Centre, a programme by Montfort Care, are thrilled to announced the successful completion of an inspiring Art workshop, designed to encourage clients to foster open communication, collaborative teamwork, and positive reinforcement. This dynamic event, held at Visual Arts Centre, exemplified Big Love’s unwavering commitment to inclusiveness and diversity, while empowering families in crisis to embrace and celebrate each other’s unique differences.
The workshop centered around the crucial understanding that cultivating these values begins right at home, with each individual taking an active role. Through a hands-on approach, children were given a platform to spend quality time with their peers, express their emotions, refine communication skills, and forge deep connections using engaging and creative art mediums. The event saw active participation from a select group of 15 to 20 clients, comprising children aged between seven and 12.
Visual Arts Centre and Big Love extend their heartfelt appreciation to the participants, families and all those involved in making this event a resounding success.
Big Love hosted a remarkable Scavenger Hunt event at the Visual Arts Centre, with 10 mystery pitstops, from the 16th to 25th June, aimed at raising community awareness about the needs of Child Protection and inspiring public involvement in safeguarding our children.
Following the highly successful inaugural hunt held last year, this year’s Scavenger Hunt surpassed expectations, offering an even larger and more thrilling experience. Over 2,000 participants eagerly took part, embarking on a captivating journey that involved solving clues and riddles while gaining valuable insights into the field of Child Protection.
The event served as a powerful call to action, urging everyone to join forces and prioritise the safety of the children we champion. The event received extensive media coverage, highlight its significant impact and further amplifying its message.
Big Love is a community-based Child Protection Specialist Centre (CPSC) under Montfort Care that was set up in May 2013 to help with Child Protection concerns and for families to improve their functioning and resilience.
Central to Big Love’s philosophy is the belief in providing child-centric, family-focused, and community-based support. Case work management and supportive services are conducted in client’s natural environment – their homes, schools, workplaces and within their communities.
The heart of the Montfort Care (Big Love) mission: Help for family, hope for children.
