ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Step into a safe and welcoming creative space through this 2-hour Art Therapy Workshop guided by Singaporean artist and certified art therapist Yen Chua. Designed to encourage stillness, reflection, emotional expression, and relaxation, this workshop invites participants to explore creativity freely through intuitive art-making and mindful visual expression.
Participants will be able to choose from a wide range of art materials and mediums including acrylic paint, watercolour, pens, crayons, and markers, while also selecting between working on canvas or white paper. Whether through colours, textures, marks, or abstract forms, each participant is encouraged to explore emotions, thoughts, and imagination in their own personal way — there is no right or wrong outcome. The canvas becomes an open space for self-discovery, release, and calmness.
Throughout the session, Yen Chua will also guide participants through simple relaxation and grounding techniques, introducing ways to slow down, reconnect with the present moment, and use art-making as a healthy emotional release. Through mindful mark-making, painting exercises, breathing awareness, and reflective creative prompts, participants will experience how art can become a gentle tool for stress relief, emotional processing, and personal wellbeing.
All art materials are provided in this workshop, ranging from dry mediums – colouring pencils, coloured pens, markers to watercolour paints.
